Why it takes more than one pass
Drywall dust is fine enough to stay airborne for hours. You clean a room, it settles again, you clean it again, and it settles a third time from the ceiling, the light boxes and the HVAC. It also turns to a paste if you wet it before it has been vacuumed off, which is how a lot of well-meaning first attempts make things worse. The order is always the same: vacuum with proper filtration, from the top of the room down, then wet-clean, then come back and do the settled layer again.

Because it is multiple passes, not one. Drywall dust settles again after each pass, it has to be vacuumed before anything is wet-cleaned, and removing adhesive, grout haze, film and stickers is slow hand work. A new build in Doon South is usually two to three times the hours of a deep clean of the same square footage.
