Old houses get a different approach

Plaster gets dry methods, not a wet cloth. Waxed or shellacked hardwood gets neutral pH and a barely damp mop, never a bucket or a steam mop. Deep-profile trim, picture rails and window casings are brushed before they are wiped. Radiators are vacuumed fin by fin. It takes longer, and the quote will say so up front rather than surprising you on the day.
What a deep clean will not fix
Cleaning is not restoration. Grout that has failed needs regrouting. Caulk that has gone black through the bead needs replacing, not bleaching. Etched shower glass stays etched. Carpet with set stains needs extraction by a carpet specialist.
